Okeechobee Livestock Market
Livestock auction house
About
The Okeechobee Livestock Market was built in the 1930s by The Dixie Cattlemen. In 1948 it operated exclusively as a cattle auction. In 1961 it was purchased by Pete Clemons and has remained in the family ever since. Currently Todd & Jeff Clemons run the cattle auction. Sale days are Monday & Tuesday and start at noon on both days. The office is open Monday through Thursday 8am – 5pm, and Friday 8am - noon. The Market Restaurant is located inside the building, and serves breakfast and lunch (and sometimes dinner) Monday - Wednesday. Once a month on Thursdays, Producers Cattle Auction, the internet component to the brick-and-mortar business hosts online bidding for truck load sales of feeder calves. This can be viewed online.
